Tuesday, January 16
Floorcloth Class
Make your own 2' x 3' floorcloth at the Newbold-White House Visitor Center under guidance of crafter Miriam Riggs, who has been making and selling them for 25 years. Canvas, paint, and tools are provided. No prior experience is necessary. Cost is $85 per person which can be paid upon arrival. Class runs from 1 pm to 5 pm. Call or email the site manager for more information.

Saturday, February 17
Wine Tasting
Friends of the Vineyard second annual "Encore Sweetheart Weekend" wine-tasting and food pairing. It will be held at the George E. Major House, 131 West Market Street at 6 p.m. This international event features wines and food from Chile, France, and Italy. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the Newbold-White House or the Chamber of Commerce by calling 426-3700.
 
 
 
 
 
   

Thursday, March 1
Official Spring Opening. Guided tours run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Self guided tours available only when docent is not on duty, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
 
Saturday, March 3
PCRA Annual Meeting
Event starts at 6 p.m. at the Albemarle Plantation Sound Links Restaurant. Dinner includes chicken parmesan with pasta, Italian green beans, breadsticks, and lemon sorbet with raspberry sauce. Guest speaker is Phillip McMullan who will speak on The Lost Colony at Roanoke Island. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased in person at the Newbold-White House, or by calling the site manager at 426-7567.  A silent auction and Colonial Dinner raffle will also take place.

 
Saturday, May 19
Spring Garden Party
A beautiful setting on the Perquimans River hosts this traditional spring event that captures the Southern charm of coastal North Carolina. Dinner and mint juleps will be served buffet style to the sounds of a band. Reservations are required.
   

 
   
Sunday, June 17
Summer Breeze Concert
Relax to the sound of Jazz Quintet, Connected, on the lawn of the historic Newbold-White House. Admission is free to the public although donations are welcomed. Visitors are asked to bring their own chairs, snacks, drinks, and parasols.

Relax to the sound of light classical music by the ECSU Albemarle Strings on the lawn of the historic Newbold-White House. Concert begins at 5:30 p.m. and lasts one hour, not including intermission. Summer Breeze Concert
Relax to the sound of folk music of coastal carolina as it can only be done by Connie Mason on the lawn of the historic Newbold-White House. Concert begins at 5:30 p.m. and lasts one hour, not including intermission. Admission is free to the public although donations are welcomed. Visitors are asked to bring their own chairs, snacks, drinks, and parasols.

Saturday & Sunday, September 8-9
Hearth & Harvest Festival
A family event featuring period crafters and sutlers, children's games, tours, food and music from eighteenth century coastal North Carolina. Colonial encampment also on site with reenactments scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. History of the American Flag ceremony will take place at 1:30 p.m. Knife and tomahawk throwing competition and shooting competition will be held by reenactors. A free shuttle bus runs between downtown Hertford and the Hearth and Harvest at the Newbold-White House on Saturday. Admission: Individual - $4; Family - $12. Hours - 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Bi-Annual Perquimans County Farm Tour
 
Tuesday, October 30
Annual Ghost Tour
A family event featuring pirates, civil war soldiers, colonial settlers, pirates, witches and more!
Refreshments will be served free of charge.
6:06 p.m. to 830 p.m.
Admission: $3 per person
 
Saturday, November 3
PCRA First Annual Golf Tournament Fund Raiser - at Sound Links Golf Club at Albemarle Plantation.  Registration and range open at 8am, Shotgun start at 9am.  Lunch, prizes and raffle at 2pm under the tent on the lawn.  Opportunities for corporate sponsorships and individual hole sponsorships available.  New car from Biggs for hole-in-one on hole #11.  Register as foursome - $400 per team.  Call office for details or to register.

Thursday, November 22
Guided tours end for the season. Self guided tours still available. Fall and Winter business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m to 5 p.m.

 
   
Friday, December 15
Colonial Christmas Open House
Gather around the Yule Log and enjoy musical performances by a children's choir, a harpist and a barbershop quartet. Cookies, hot mulled cider, cakes, and much more available. See the Newbold-White House decorated for Christmas in the eighteenth century style and then cap off the evening with the Lord Mayor in a fireside ceremony to bless the New Year, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Admission is free although donations are welcomed.
