2006

As last year, Periauger enjoyed an intensive period of maintenance early in March as the vessel was laboriously and lovingly prepared for another season on the water. During this period, Miss P. was kept warm and dry inside the Holiday Island maintenance shed - thank you, Holiday Island!

Once back in the water, Periauger’s “trial outing” for the 2006 season was a visit to Albemarle Plantation, as the guest of Osprey Yacht Club and Albemarle Sail and Power Squadron, in what was called Periauger’s “Plantation Days”.

Once again, this summer, Periauger made several day-sailing excursions on the Perquimans River with, with guest crew, and participated enthusiastically in Hertford’s Indian Summer Festival.

Periauger made her first solo crossing of the Albemarle Sound (well, not quite solo, there is always a tow-boat nearby for emergencies) in October, as she sailed across to join in the Scuppernong River Festival at Columbia.
